Drew is a graduate of Appalachian State University. He and his wife, Katie, met at App State and have lived in Buncombe County since. They live in West Asheville, where they are raising their son, Simon. 

 

Drew has served as Buncombe County’s Register of Deeds since 2011, running on a campaign of fiscal responsibility and increased convenience for the public and professionals who use the office. Under Drew's leadership, the Buncombe County Register of Deeds office has been a state and nationwide leader on issues such as marriage equality, transparency, accessibility, and technological advances. Drew successfully ran for office in 2012, 2016 and 2020. He seeks re-election in 2024.
